My first few photos...

I received Collins as my 30th birthday present from my favorite husband, with a little help from my sissy and parents on lenses and accessories.  Collins is a Nikon D7000 and promises to take amazing photos, if only I can figure out how.

I am told that your first 10,000 photos are your worst, so what a better way to memorialize my first and worst photographs than to post them online.  This is my very first photo in honor of my very first day in my 30's!  I barely looked through the viewfinder and this is what Collins gave me.  Thank you Collins for starting this off by making me look good!

This is a photo of a child I have never met.  I don't know what she was doing at my birthday party, but we don't ask too many questions in my family.

This next photo is of a tree in my backyard.  We keep fertilizing this tree but it won't grow any bigger than this tiny little thing.  Anyway, it doesn't make a bad photo...

While I was photographing trees in the backyard, a couple of bald eagles decided to perch in our urban sancutary.  Usually I chase the varments so that they don't scare the college kids away from drinking nearby, but I figured I would let them rest while I took a few shots.

Here's a closeup of the bald eagle's head.  It looks kinda like a raptor the closer you get...  weird...

Well, it was a pretty boring day for photos, but what can you expect to photograph in your own backyard?  All in all, I think Collins was a trooper.
